Meramec River Telemetry Study

The Gateway Trout Unlimited Chapter has been collaborating with the MDC on a telemetry study on the Red Ribbon Section of the Meramec River since 2017. Through a series of fund raising events, GTU was able to completely fund the expansion of the study per the specs of the MDC . The goal is to gain further insight in the movements of brown trout post stocking. The study is set to roll out in the Fall of 2019. For more information and updates on this study, click here.

Project Brown Trout

GTU is piloting Project Brown Trout to see if brown trout grown from eggs hatched in stream have better survival and reproduction rates than stocked fish. We've already placed 30,000 brown trout eggs in Westover Farms.

The project is underway now, click here to learn more and see how you can help.
